Pros

If you're going to work in corporate, UKG is still the best. Before it was UKG it was Ultimate Software and Kronos. Those two companies merged and formed UKG. I worked at Ultimate Software before the merger. Ultimate Software was consistently in the top 25 of fortune's 100 best companies to work for (I think it was eight years in a row in the top 25). The CEO was a great man who had emblazoned on the headquarters' wall one of his north stars as an executive, a mantra he came up with: "The measure of a company is how they treat their lowest-paid employee." We had 100% healthcare for employee, domestic partner, and all children; 40% matching on 401k, that's not a typo, i said 40%, not 4; and a general encouragement to feel empowered as an employee to do the right thing - a value system rarely encouraged in the corporate space - moral soundness. They really treated everyone the same and cared about employees and their families. Now with the merger, some stuff has changed - all the executives have changed up and it's a whole new thing. But we still have 100% healthcare for domestic partner and dependents and 40% matching on 401k. Most of the same people are still here, including VPs and management and individual contributors and they all carry with them the spirit of joy and moral soundness. There were a bunch of firings and that is a difficult pill to swallow - 14% of the workforce was let go. But I'm hoping that was the only big one. They brought on a new CEO after that big firing and she is awesome. She is fun and interesting but also kind, dedicated, and hard working. She has the spirit that all the employees already had. I think she will be a great leader and I hope she stays forever. All of the leaders they have brought on so far seem really great and that is super encouraging - nice, cool, down-to-earth, considerate of all employees and treating us like real people, not like corporate hamsters on a corporate spinning wheel. I'm cautiously optimistic, but really feel like we might pull through and be the best company in the industry - the most fun, caring, hard working, technologically impressive, beloved, well-known, and sought-after company for HR and Payroll.

Cons

I don't have any cons to report at the moment.

Pros

There was once a great company named Ultimate Software, it was destroyed by a hostile takeover from H&F, a private equity firm, and a merger with Kronos to become UKG. There are very few Pros since that time.

Cons

When this company was Ultimate Software, prior to the takeover from H&F and the merger with Kronos, it was a world class company with top shelf people. The company Motto was "People First" and they truly lived by that motto, never a layoff, great working environment and stealer benefits. Since the takeover and subsequent merger with Kronos, to become UKG this company has taken a path of "Money First", which is understandable given the greedy nature of Private Equity Firms like H&F. They have systematically closed most of the offices across the US and have been expanding their footprint in Noida India, for obvious reasons. The leadership that has been put in place by H&F is clearly focused on IPO. And we all know what that means, clean up the books and make the company look as good on paper as possible. Can you say "Lipstick on a Pig". This was once a great company when it was run by Scott and Viv but now it has gone the way of the Private Equity management and is heading for a great fall.
