Pros
Great first position for young people to break into the retail industry. You will be expected to run the business with no corporate support and held to impossible standards. The only pro to this is that you can learn the ins and outs of a store from clienteling to operations since you will be expected to do it all while being paid a wage very low.
Cons
The structure of the company is flawed from the bottom to the top. Managers and corporate hold resentment toward each other and company morale is extremely low. Managers are always stressed by the amount of work they have to do and the team sees that. As a result, turnover is extremely high and no one stays at the company for more than a few months. The customers are constantly seeing new managers come and go and this makes them uneasy to shop with the brand. This company holds its employees to a luxury brand standard without the pay. I have seen many loyal and talented employees being burnt out and go on to be very successful with other companies. There is no work life balance and it is expected for you to be doing work on your days off. Until this company does a full restructure from the top to the bottom- working here will only cause you stress and trauma.
