Pros
I work in a beautiful facility and have wonderful patients. The workload is manageable for the most part. There is always something to learn and I enjoy my job. In most UPMC facilities, CRNPs are treated with respect and encouraged to practice to the fullest extent of their licenses.
Cons
Pay is mediocre, and it is nearly impossible to achieve the full bonus, no matter what you do. Management is not trustworthy for the most part - most will do what they must to protect their jobs and get ahead. UPMC is a 'non-profit' organization but operates like a Fortune 500 corporation - the company cares about money, not patients or employees. If you work here, expect T-shirts and lip service about how much they 'value' you, but your service anniversary will go unmentioned and you will not get so much as a happy nurses week/APP week. If you don't enjoy politics, you will never get ahead.
