Pros
Relatively easy to obtain benefits.
Cons
Pretty much everything else. If you don't have a degree, you won't be making much money here. From the high requirements/preference for jobs to the lackluster responses from management - the place leaves a lot to be desired for the largest employer of people in the state. You can have years of experience and it means relatively nothing to HR/Talent Acquisition who are just kids pulled directly from college. Which, in our HR slideshow, a 4 year degree is counted as 4 years of experience in that given field and out classes any of the other requirements. Now, I went to college - I can tell you 4 years of college did not provide me with any of the training I've ever received in the job field. UPMC wants to compare themselves to the likes of bigger and better corporations but has yet to adopt their values and embrace their own workers. There is no value in loyalty to this company.
