I have great unit managers who try really hard to help their staff - but it's a UPMC problem.
Cons
Terrible benefits. You have to PAY to ride a shuttle to get to work. The shuttle is often late and completely packed. I literally feel like I'm a UPMC minion walking into work to clock-in. No lunch breaks on my unit. Staff/patient ratios are very unsafe. Everyone on my unit is quitting - they are hiring new people. But what happens when all the experienced people leave and it's an entire unit of new nurses? I'm getting out as soon as I can. This summer was terrible.
