Because the Air Force expects a lot from its members, the work hours can be long and stressful Air Force families. - Office Manager US Air Force Employee Review

Pros

The pay isn't bad but it's not the best considering the long hours and deployments. The people are the best; I can't say that enough. If you want, you have the opportunity to see the world. If you put you mind to it, you can progress quickly, but it's all about the personal mindset. You are given responsibility that many people are afforded. You are placed in a position of trust by becoming an United States Airman. You feel proud of the work that you accomplish. If you are having ANY kind of problem, ask and someone will lend a hand.

Cons

Deployments can be a killer on the family life. One year remote tours can be detrimental to a family. Long hours. Continuous training. The layers of beauracracy Health care needs some serious revamping. Take 2 motrin and call me never. Depending on the job being an hourly worker would be better than a salaried worker. Get rid of the EPR and bring back the APR. Cost of uniforms are way to expensive. Really $130 for a single uniform.

Pros

Great first career after high school with excellent benefits, valuable training, steady pay, travel opportunities, and room for personal and professional growth.

Cons

Frequent moves, long hours, inconsistent leadership, and limited control over assignments or duty locations can make work-life balance difficult.
