Pros
Good things about the Army don't start out immediately. They happen down the road after all your training. - Good pay, mostly starting at around 1.8K a year which is about 90 cents an hour and it only goes up from there. - You also work on your physical and mental capabilities. You train almost daily depending on your job and unit. You forge connections. - Every day, you are likely to meet someone that you have to work with at one point and the Army allows you to become quick companions with those around you, since you are all working towards the same goal. - Benefits. You get a lot of benefits, or some of them depending on if you are Active, Reserve, or National Guard. That can range anywhere from free healthcare, to accessible education. However, the food isn't free... and it isn't too good either. You're better off cooking for yourself.
Cons
The Army can be a bit headstrong, stubborn, and slow. When you're leadership thinks and says something, you have to do it, whether you don't want to, or don't think you can. Is there a chance they can be wrong? Of course, but it's unlikely. There are also times, where your leadership isn't the best. You can hate them, and they can be terrible people, but there isn't anything you can do about it unless you have proof or have to move duty stations. It's taxing on the mind. It might not seem like it but working in the Army is basically a 9-5 job and then some. You are never really brought to a duty station to do 'only' your job. You do more and all of that can put a damper on your mental. Unless you sign up for therapy or ask for a break, you could end up holding all those feelings in - just waiting to burst open on something that doesn't deserve it.
