Pros
Overall, these were some of the best and worst years of my life. I learned so much, and grew so much as a person. The opportunities here are like any other. There are not shortage of insanely cool jobs in the Army. Compensation is actually pretty good if you factor in the GI Bill.
Cons
There was definitely a lot of bureaucratic garbage that had to go. And more importantly leadership would never invest in improving systems. leading to archaic practices (e.g., manual inventory paperwork). Several leaders were not fit to lead in a modern era where using technology is a must. Lots of useless trainings that hindered mission readiness.
