Pros
Great people to work with if somewhat demanding A great door opener for a future position Fairly accommodating (meaning it's fair if not always convenient) Excellent side benefits for working with the military
Cons
Somewhat demanding, restrictive, and highly regimented. For someone who's never been in the military it was quite an adjustment to make. Also, for someone looking to be autonomous, innovative, creative, and challenged in your career; this would probably be more of an interim position. Change comes slowly, if at all. And every decision or action is checked, re-checked, and then verified by 3 or 4 different people. Making independent judgements and decisions is not encouraged by any means and sometimes your only job is to defer to someone else, no matter how simple the task may seem. If you enjoy going above and beyond the call of duty, this is not the job for you. Your duty is your duty. This is a military base after all.
