Pros
Vacation time, telework option, pension, good health benefits
Cons
The union presence is very strong, and very few supervisors do the right thing by writing people up for not doing their job. The attitude is to look the other way and give the hard workers even more work to cover for the dead weight. We literally have 2 employees who have not submitted 1 completed assignment in 2 years. The office dynamics are catty, and since there are absolutely no repercussions, harassment is also not addressed. This leads to an atmosphere of distrust and poor morale. Good employees leave this organization. The employees with prior military experience tend to do well because they are used to taking orders and getting their job done. The real problem stems from the dead weight from industry that can't cut it in their previous jobs and seem to thrive in this environment.
