Pros
US Foods was a fun sales job that requires a lot of learning and potential for income. I left for a more stable and prestigious company, but it’s not a knock on US Foods. Most successful reps were longtime employees. The training and support was extensive. They do make a good effort to cultivate employees. On the first day they tell the class that most will be gone in a year. That was true for me. It takes a lot of tenacity, humility, hard work, product knowledgeable, and resilience to work as a commissioned sales rep. It’s not for the faint of heart and requires patience. My guess is that those who stick around do pretty well in the long run. I personally benefited from the training even though it wasn’t a fit for me.
Cons
Lots of hours prospecting, training, doing work for accounts that are just using you and turnover.
