Pros

Half your income is non-taxable. Hard to beat 30 days leave annually with roll-over or 84 days of parental leave. Pretty straightforward assignments and progression. GI Bill and retirement options.

Cons

Sometimes your bosses aren't great and you can't just quit. Occasional deployments away from home.

Pros

- Paid twice a week - Health insurance - you get to move around

Cons

- you get degraded constantly - the base pay is basically nothing and the BAH doesn't keep up with the rise of the cost of living - they'll kick you out after 10 years for the mortal sin of being transgender - the health coverage would be great if you didn't have to go to completely incompetent military doctors
