Pros

If your goal is a career in the military welcome. Strong and wide range of benefits, support services, and pay. You will experience time to explore outside the country. Gaining a perspective and appreciation for the simple things in life. There is an unmatched consistency overtime of benefits to support raising a family.

Cons

It is not always princess cruise lines, but you will have personal time off after the work day. One guarantee, the schedule WILL change. People will not be in the same place for more than a few years at a time. If you plan to start and support a family, this may not be the branch. If you plan to separate, either after "a stint" or a career, start to reduce anything extra you (or your family) do not need. This process is deliberately built the way it is so that transition back to civilian life covers all your bases. If you do not work hard for your goals and in some cases stay vigilant, you will find it difficult to move outside of your job track.
