Pros
Free room and board, dental, medical, and a chance to gain a new career/job skill set. You will see the world if you are deployed. Excellent benefits after serving due to the new chapter 33 GIBILL.
Cons
Deployments are 24/7, you work until you hit a port or go home. Even after you hit a port on deployment, you still might be expected to work. Forget about initiative, the Navy is all about sir yes sir. Low pay and sometimes grueling working conditions.
