      Pros

      If you stay in the Navy definitely go officer. Being enlisted is very hard to move up the ranks unless you are in a very hard job.

      Cons

      Going out to sea and missing family is definitely a downer. You also have to commit to the lifestyle, it is not an easy adjustment.
