Pros
Great pay scale for someone without a college degree. Good retirement plan and affordable health care options. Vacation benefits are some of the best around.
Cons
Very difficult to be hired on, let alone into a full-time career position. Once hired on, you are at the mercy of which position and what shift is assigned to you. When I first began my career, I was not explained to as what was my position would be. I started on tour one, sounds nice, but in postal terms that is 3rd shift. Then, once I became comfortable in my position, I was then explained to that I will be switching to tour two, 1st shift, doing something completely different within one weeks time. Communication is non-existent, consistently short on help, bad customer service reputation, difficult hours. I really could go on.....
