Pros
Benefits are good. Overall not many positives.
Cons
USAA is the most top heavy organization I've ever worked at. So many people who only exist to micromanage, and far too few competent developers. I was a good developer, so I was made a "tech lead" of a project. What this really meant was I was responsible for managing a 15 person team of mostly contractors, while also being expected to do the highest value development as well. Leadership was incredibly indecisive. Large changes in direction were the norm. I was at USAA for 2 years and it never felt like I worked on the same thing for more than 6 months before the project goals or plan was entirely changing on us. On top of all that, both years I was there, the bonus was well under the level that they advertised when I had applied.
