Pros

The only good thing I can say about USAA is the benefits.

Cons

The company is desperately trying to comply with the OCC consent order and as such, is attempting to add employees at a rapid pace. However, due to the constraints of the consent order and the poor way it was implemented, the stress levels at the organization are off the charts. EMGs (Executive Manager Group, AVPs and above) have no respect for the employees and the quality of life. No constructive guidance is provided, the members of the EMG have no backbone and do not provide strong leadership to employees. Training classes are excessive and the quality of the training is sub-par at best. As such, employees are belittled by the EMG group, retaliation is widespread and mental health is a concern. The insurance side of the house is well managed; however, most of the concerns are on the bank side. My suggestion, no amount of money or benefits is worth working for this company. People support the mission of USAA; however, people do not support the execution and they way the consent order is being managed, this is not going to be resolved any time within the next 24 - 36 months.

Pros

Life work balance, great benefit package and nice colleagues. The goal of the company is providing the best service to its members. So, they treat employees the best to encourage them to do the same for members.

Cons

Slow IT support, limited interactions with industry. Banking business is not as mature as insurance.
