Pros

The USAA of the past holds great memories and many employees live the values touted by the organization.

Cons

Working in the bank under an array of ex-big-box-bank execs and multiple consent orders was enough to expedite burnout. If you like doing 2-3 times the work you’re paid for with threats of “get in line or get out” and layoffs this is the place for you. Little to no organization, plummeting employee satisfaction, increasing metric goals, micromanaging the wrong things, prevalent retaliation for speaking up, scant training, catering to execs, and a revolving door of CEOs. There was a time where I thought I would retire there, but now I wouldn’t even recommend any job at USAA unless you want to tank your career.

Pros

Life work balance, great benefit package and nice colleagues. The goal of the company is providing the best service to its members. So, they treat employees the best to encourage them to do the same for members.

Cons

Slow IT support, limited interactions with industry. Banking business is not as mature as insurance.
