Pros
UTHEALTH is ok, stable and helpful employer. But for a post-doc, your work experience is very much dependent on your PI everywhere. there are not many pro's to work as a post-doc. avoid if possible. the only pro might be the flexibility, if you have a good PI.
Cons
Parking and safety on the streets are big issues. There are robberies, breking ins every other day. As an employee, I would prefer to work in a safer environment where I can park my car for free and walk to my building safe.
