The least rewarding job I've ever had. - Prestige Consultant Ulta Beauty Employee Review

Pros

- Decent discount (25%) - Lots of gratis for prestige - Good relationships with customers - Received a raise for good review - Hinting at a promotion to Prestige Manager (Who knows, though!) - Sales aren't based on commission, so my team doesn't have to fight over the "good" shifts

Cons

- Severely understaffed in prestige and cashiers - We are a "lower" store so we get less hours, at one point I was getting NINE HOURS A WEEK! - Management treats our keyholder like a slave. She only closes, and almost always 5 nights a row (Wed-Sun!) - Being a lower store, we don't get full lines (ex. Benefit, Studio Gear, Iman) or much support from vendors. - It takes us months to get new testers of anything. - No recognition of any kind of job well done from management (except keyholder) - Keyholder is the only manager that has any relationships with our customers, also is the only manager to come out of the office for more than 5 minutes at a time - I get blamed for any fragrance theft, even if it shows I was in the middle of a makeover during that time!

Pros

Great discount Gratis is good but having worked for Sephora as well, theirs is way better. Fun customers most of the time

Cons

Glorified babysitter when your team is incompetent Store can quickly become a wreck when one manager isn’t pulling their weight Too many hats in this role and way too overbearing. I thought I’d need to see a neurologist for migraines but it turns out I was just way too stressed in my role. ai. And a big push for more and more ai in the future.
