Pros
Talking about beauty products with customers and coworkers is fun! The discount is nice and gratis is an added bonus. If your management team is good (and likes you), they'll try to move you up in a reasonable amount of time.
Cons
-The dress code is kind of absurd for the setting (because shoulders and colored shoes are "unprofessional"?) -Scheduling you past midnight and then early the next morning is apparently a thing that managers can get away with. -It's nearly impossible to get requested time off. -Management can be unfriendly and impatient with training. You'll likely be thrown into a situation and expected to know how to handle it without any help, and face their disappointment if you can't perform. -Because employees aren't treated well, the turnover rate is extremely high. Associates regularly call in sick or just don't show up, but who could blame them? Management acts like they're disposable. -There's a lot of pressure to do the jobs of multiple people and it's impossible to do it accurately. -My store was consistently understaffed because of this (and a couple of particularly bad eggs in management) so I rarely had the opportunity to perform the tasks in my job title because I had to cashier all day, almost everyday.
