Pros

Good Benefits. Nice office space.

Cons

You will be repeatedly told there is no room in the budget for raises or advancements while someone coming into the position will be paid significantly more. You will be told how great you are and then have things dumped on you over and over again and then held back. There is no real advancement in that company. You will be talked down to by your peers and berated by your superiors one moment and the next be told your amazing. Your work only matters when management is being looked at. At that point you are told to rush and quality doesn't matter. Training is non-existent unless you are willing to train yourself. You will be told you have a on-boarding document that will never show up but will be constantly told about it and asked about it like its your fault management never produced it. There isn't enough staff and they are constantly behind. You will be expected to train sometimes multiple people while keeping up your work load which can be an impossible feet.

Pros

The underwriting role here is definitely challenging and fast-paced, but it’s rewarding if you enjoy problem-solving and handling complex cases. It’s an intellectually stimulating environment where you’re constantly learning and adapting, which keeps the workday interesting. The team is generally supportive, and there's a good mix of independent work and collaboration. The opportunities to grow professionally are abundant, and the company offers plenty of resources to help improve your skill set.

Cons

The role can be difficult, particularly due to the frequent changes in our systems and processes. These shifts have added some complexity to the day-to-day responsibilities, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. There’s a steep learning curve, especially for those new to underwriting or transitioning into the role.
