Pros

Unilever China provides great opportunities for those who are new in the FMCG industry, and these opportunities includes various training programs for various work-level employees (not only for management trainee); annual personal review and development plan; international working experience. Besides, the value and the culture of Unilever China is people oriented and people-caring.

Cons

There could be a bottle neck of carrer development in Unilever because the ratio of Chinese in the middle to upper management level is low, especially in work level 3A to 4.

Pros

Hard to find any pros now... nice new office with a view, Good products. Company store. Good stamp on the resume (I guess).

Cons

UL has lost its way. Used to be an exceptional company when it fundamentally was ethical, environmental and prioritized Customer and employee service. Its now clear that the company is being milked by the board for money. Layoffs, sketchy financial activity, disconnected leadership structures with no feedback loops. Office politics are rampant and you cant get promoted, UL creates their own "glass ceiling" to limit promotions. Multiple divestitures over the past years.
