Pros

Lots of product ownership, company with strong values and strong brands that impact the world, extremely strong on resume, opens many doors

Cons

Culture can be gossipy (depending on what division you are in), terrible work/life balance, teams are too lean for the amount of work that is given, lack of training and development

Pros

Hard to find any pros now... nice new office with a view, Good products. Company store. Good stamp on the resume (I guess).

Cons

UL has lost its way. Used to be an exceptional company when it fundamentally was ethical, environmental and prioritized Customer and employee service. Its now clear that the company is being milked by the board for money. Layoffs, sketchy financial activity, disconnected leadership structures with no feedback loops. Office politics are rampant and you cant get promoted, UL creates their own "glass ceiling" to limit promotions. Multiple divestitures over the past years.
