Pros

Great group of co-workers and physicians, pay was fairly competitive for me but this is not always the case.

Cons

Short staffed, always pushed to cram more patients in which is disrespectful of the patient when there's a 2 hour or more wait on a regular basis. Upper management makes decisions with no regard for the clinical staff who end up bearing the brunt of their poor decisions (such as undergoing an EMR change in November during the busiest time of the year without having the appropriate IT in place). The last straw has been mandating every employee (regardless of whether you work in the hospital or clinic office) to pick up an additional two full (8 or 12hr) shifts per pay period in either the hospital or convenient care with no allowances for childcare needs, school, physical limitations or comfort zone. It's a shame that a health care organization would show such utter disregard for their employees wellbeing.

Pros

Amazing teamwork, truly caring staff with big hearts who love what they do and want to help the patients/other staff members. Genuinely kind people working here!!

Cons

Be cautious if you have to deal with management. Try to get everything in writing and make sure that you are in agreement with your schedule before accepting, as they will not work with you on changing it after that, even if you are helping out and picking up someone else’s previous schedule. Just know that the usual politics apply when working here as a traveler and try to stay neutral. I have observed that ones reputation can be easily damaged if there is a disagreement, even if you try to be helpful, kind, have good attendance, and leave on good standing. Apparently patient care does not appear to come first here, it’s whether or not you can agree with the management.
