Pros

Overall, very well structured company with quality training, benefits and earning potential. Invests in their employees and provides a path for career advancement through training and leadership programs.

Cons

Not the typical case, but branch manager covers two branches and somehow is allowed to only visit the branch 6-7 days a year for a couple hours at a time, not perform the sales support role outlined in their job description (weekly sales meetings, monthly ride along, coaching, mentorship) and appears to have no accountability / oversight. It’s well known amongst other reps, employees and managers but seems allowed, leaving you to figure everything out on your own. In connecting with other sales reps I truly believe the situation to be the anomaly and not the norm as their experiences were drastically different, having a structured, present and engaged manager to provide guidance towards career success. Still a good opportunity with a good company.

Pros

For the most part, United Rentals is a great company to work for. They care about their employees & promote growth from within.

Cons

The RELIABLE ONSITE SERVICES division is a total and complete DISGRACE to United Rentals name due to the Management team. Over worked and under-paid. Drivers should never come close to exceeding their DOT hours. Service trucks continuously break down, sometimes for weeks at a time. Promises are made by management but are not carried out. The way routes are dispatched is completely not efficient nor achievable. Employee's are moved in to the wrong positions.
