Pros
Fun Work Environment: The nature of the business made each day dynamic and engaging. Whether behind the scenes or guest-facing, you feel connected to something bigger. Great Employee Perks: Employees enjoy fantastic benefits such as free theme park tickets and generous discounts on retail products, food, and merchandise. These perks added a lot of value. Strong Benefits Package: The retirement plan was competitive and well-structured, and the medical coverage was comprehensive.
Cons
While the company publicly promoted Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, I observed a disconnect at the leadership level. There was clear diversity at the analyst and manager levels, but leadership remained predominantly white and male. This disparity was disheartening, particularly given the emphasis placed on DEI values. Another challenge I faced was a sudden change in roles upon starting. I was initially hired for a position that matched my background, but was quickly reassigned to a different function with little alignment to my expertise. Despite meeting my goals, I experienced targeted criticism regarding my work style. It became apparent that my manager was creating situations that undermined my confidence. Eventually, I decided to leave because it started to impact my mental health.
