Pros

The pay is alright, but how much is that worth when you hate everything else about the place?

Cons

Among a slew of other things that make me want to walk out into traffic every day after work, the four things that really burn me the most are: 1. Mandatory Overtime - I've never been more casually inconvenienced by a company in my life as often as I have here in just 4 short months. My last 3 jobs were salaried & they NEVER took advantage of me by intruding on the ONE the I love about my job...my two days off, the way Unum does. 2. What good is 28 days of PTO a year when you can't use it when you want/need to. Their sick system of pitting team mates against each other in a mad race to claim time off on the calendar is something else I've never experienced at a job. Even jobs where I was the only person who did my job (graphic designer), I've NEVER been told I couldn't take my time off when I wanted...until Unum, 3. I never understood the jokes about being rewarded for finishing your work quickly by having to do other's people's work too...until Unum. They even go as far as making you let your OWN ticket list go to crap to do the work of the terrible or lazy person(s) on the team. 4. The people who don't pull their own weight or constantly do things wrong are never held accountable because management here is trained to coddle everyone. Don't wanna hurt anyone's feelings with the truth, now.

Pros

Strong work-life balance, supportive leadership, and a collaborative culture that feels more people-focused than many large corporations. Hybrid flexibility, solid benefits, and long-term stability make it a great place to build a career. There are also good opportunities for internal growth and cross-functional experience.

Cons

Decision-making can sometimes move slowly due to layers of process and approvals. Compensation may not always be as competitive as larger tech-focused companies, and organizational changes or transformation initiatives can occasionally create ambiguity or shifting priorities. Like many large enterprises, bureaucracy can at times impact speed and innovation.
