Pros
The founding team is the best in the industry hands down. They bring incredible experience of having previously built a multi-billion dollar company in the Fintech space. They have great vision for our company but more importantly, they know how to execute against that vision. The culture is simple but amazing: Hire talented people and empower them to do what they do best, treat everyone as equals regardless of title, work hard and get stuff done with a sense of urgency, be passionate about helping people and changing a financial services industry for the positive, and have fun with our journey of building something great. The company is in the very early stages of building a company from the beginning and you can just feel the positive and creative energy from the team. There's also a ton of career growth opportunities for those who do great work at the company. The company just raised one of the largest series A funding rounds ever in the Fintech space. Clearly investors are very excited about the upside of the company. The office locations in both San Francisco and Phoenix are beautiful, state of the art, downtown, and central to public transportation which is great for those who commute longer distances. It's the opposite of many bureaucratic organizations with unnecessary layers of people who do little to no actual work. The company idea is to hire exceptional people who like to do actual work and run lean. Middle management is experienced and clearly cares about the people they lead. Even though they bring great industry experience, they also don't pretend to know it all and they proactively seek out feedback from the team on ideas for improvement. The personal loan product is fantastic because it helps customers lower the cost of their credit and improves their financial lives. Having a great product and truly helping people is huge for me.
