Pros

The only good thing is you can roll over your pto.

Cons

I wouldn’t recommend working at Upstream Rehabilitation or any of their brands to anyone. I worked with this company for over 4 years and you are nothing but a number to them. Patients are nothing but a number to them. Everything is about numbers. Upstream and every higher up in the company only care about how many patients you can bring in and schedule. It doesn’t matter if the clinic is full and the therapist is overbooked, as long as they hit their numbers. It doesn’t matter if we don’t accept a patient’s insurance and the patient will end up receiving a mega bill at the end of their treatment, as long as you get them scheduled so they can hit their numbers! When dealing with serious health issues that landed me in the hospital, I asked to move to part time and was denied. When I asked off for a health day, my pto was denied to due staffing issues. It is not my responsibility to staff the department/company. So when I called in for this health day, 50% of my monthly bonus was deducted from my pay. This is the most toxic company I have ever worked with. Team leads and supervisors are very passive aggressive and micromanagers. You are not allowed to be away from your desk at the same time another employee is. You cannot take a bathroom break longer than 5 minutes. You must be at your computer 20 minutes before your shift but you are not allowed to clock in yet. Only one person is allowed to be on PTO at at time. Upstream pay starts at $14 and the maximum is $18, so do yourself a favor and work at a company where you are valued.

Pros

They have a good continuing education allowance and a good mentorship program. I will say all the therapists and office coordinators are fantastic.

Cons

The work life balance is poor and they do not have a good support system for therapists. Therapist are expected to give high-quality care of patients while they are either booked or triple booked as well as clean the clinic and maintain laundry without either a tech to help or a cleaning service as well as complete documentation within the hour and have no overtime. Another con is due to the size of the company, HR is extremely hard to get of hold of. No phone number listed and emails take 2 weeks to get a response. When I left, I gave a 4 week notice, except technically I missed it by 3 days, only one of those being business day. Because I was 3 days short of 4 weeks, they declined to pay out my PTO. Potential employees beware
