Pros
First off, you're saving puppies and kittens, basically. Very rewarding stuff. VEG culture is very potent, almost a little cult-like, but it's very upbeat and positive. The founder is so personable, he has Q&As every few weeks and he makes sure to know every person who joins. You're given a lot of freedom when things are slow, to do yoga and take naps and have spontaneous CE. Expect lots of staff outings (COVID permitted, anyhow) and food (so much food for employees) and a really approachable management team. I love this job, and I think all of my coworkers do, too. I do get paid much more than I did at other clinics.
Cons
Really just the same cons you would expect in any veterinary setting. Long hours, depressing shifts, can be a bit unpredictable. There is always a need for coverage, especially at the 24/7 hospitals. You can expect to stay late frequently.
