Pros
VNSNY has an excellent mission to serve all who need it, and the dedicated clinical staff fulfills this mission every day and provides high quality care. Traditionally the organization has had good work life balance but in recent years that has been less true because everyone has been asked to do more with less. There are excellent vacation benefits and solid medical, dental, and other benefits.
Cons
The biggest weaknesses at VNSNY are a lack of transparency in management, and a dysfunctional management culture that has many silos of all types (geography, program, payor) that inhibits decisivness. Projects drag on and change is slow and difficult. Compensation is weaker than it should be.
