Pros

I've been at VTG for most of my adult life. The company has grown and continues to grow at a fast pace, which opens up opportunities for anyone pursuing professional growth. Despite the growth, the company has been able to maintain a unique family-like work culture that is a source of envy for anyone who's on the guest list at a VTG company event. Earning potential for Travel Counselors is uncapped and the leads are all incoming, plentiful and mostly qualified. On the Operations side, VTG promotes exclusively from within, which makes it possible to advance your career through management opportunities if that's the path you choose.

Cons

VTG is a consumer sales environment, so we have to work when the general population isn't. So the schedule can be a bit rough for Travel Counselors at first while you "pay your dues." Pay for Travel Counselors is uncapped, but it's straight commission. As such, earnings are subject to some seasonality. Seasonality can be managed pretty easily if you plan accordingly. There are always leads coming in.

Pros

Ability to work from home, and uncapped commission

Cons

Out of touch responses to any negative review. Rigid adherence to how things have been operating, and unable or unwilling to consider suggestions that would actually improve the relationship between company and agents. Surveys use a non-standard metric, just because it's what Alan wants, despite standard surveys (CSAT/NPS) being available.
