Pros

Vaco is a company that works hard to keep its people employed. In the SF bay area region, the contracts come and go, but Vaco's recruiters work hard to make sure that its employees are reassigned even if their contract ends. Vaco is a good place to get some work experience if you're a recent college graduate with a solid skill set, but are struggling to find work. Many of the jobs are entry-level, and a high turnover rate makes for a lot of job availability.

Cons

The nature of the contract work provided by Vaco makes for some drawbacks: There is little opportunity for advancement in the company, with the exception of people operations, and recruiting. The pay is not that great, and benefits like vacation & sick time are often either not offered, or don't begin accruing until after 12 months. Vaco does not provide much incentive for its employees to stay at the company more than a year or two.

Pros

GREAT work environment at Virginia State Police. Pay is good. Better than most contract employers for benefits. Supposed to get a bonus of a week's pay after 1 year and some paid holidays at that point. Best thing is getting to work on projects in AWS.

Cons

Requires 4 days a week on-site. No OT allowed. No pay for holidays, sick days or vacation. VITA requiring me to get a PMP, even though I was told I did not need one for the role.
