Pros
Average salary for most positions
Cons
Ego centric driven management that was driven by the old boys club and not by proven expertise in getting complex, new technologies to market. Wildly preferential treatment based not on actual work performance, but on the coddling and yes man game to management. Irony, was the actual big, highly engineered systems and projects were always the focus for dog and pony shows, when existing or new customers came for meetings and a plant tour, yet those same projects were criticized for being late, expensive, etc even though they had an almost perfect 100% rate of installation, assembly and performance, while other projects designed faster and easier were commended and received higher approval, due to management's lack of knowledge that their major supplier of equipment and components was doing all the engineering drawings required to actually produce the equipment, rework those hand sketches extensively on the shop floor to make a working product or system, essentially for free.
