Pros

What I liked about Kin and Carta is that the benefits were great along with Unlimited PTO. I was able to get some medically necessary procedures that I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. The people I worked with were great as well and fought for what was best for the people under them, at least until they were axed. I was able to grow my expertise as each client needed something different.

Cons

When I signed on, I was sold an image of an inclusive, ethical company that kept things like climate change. In reality, they had us working for oil pipeline companies, private jet timeshare companies, Jeff Bezos, and student loans companies. I asked to be placed with companies more beneficial to everyday people, but it never happened. I applied many places while working there, but was ultimately laid off when they were acquired by Valtech. I've learned my lesson and now know that a B Corp label means nothing.

Pros

Great work environment. Real commitment to diversity that goes beyond the surface level.

Cons

Thin spread of employees that results in a lot of work on each contributor individually.

Pros

Great well known clients & interesting projects.

Cons

There are no growth opportunities; people managers don't know how to lead; there are layoffs every 2 months for the past 18 months; there is no training (employees are told to learn on their own time / weekends) because if they are not >50% chargeable, they are on the RIF list. The company grew through acquisitions but never integrated or unified the various companies. There are no standard processes, everything is ad hoc. There were no raises this year and no bonuses either of the last 2 years.
