Pros

Good friends and good entry into the automotive world

Cons

I have a bunch of issues with the company. The medalia standards is what really pushed me over the edge. We all had to do a team goodbye at the same time, constantly having to smile at the customers, not being allowed to say anything other than “happy to help”, and they would watch on camera and write you up if you didn’t do it. The lean-clean mentality, the pressure to sell services that any mechanic worth his salt would say are unnecessary bs, constantly sucking up to upper management. Some former employees tried to unionize and were all fired, the fact that when I tried to cash out all of my PTO in the last week and corporate said no. The horrible insurance and even worse workman’s comp who denied both of my injury claims and left me with the bills. The lack of support for topside techs and not calling in back up even when the line was going down the street. Im so unbelievably happy I left, and all it was and will be was a stepping stone for me, with some decent friendships I kept on the way out.

Pros

Okay starting pay. Acceptable starting point if you're looking to get into the automotive industry

Cons

Lack of coverage when your shift ends often leading to being forced to stay an hour over at least. None of the locations have any form of AC or other way to cool down except the office sometimes having water bottles, even in heatwaves. The pit is only ever staffed by one person working both or more bays even though there are supposed to be two+ working one each. Managers will not work on the cars themselves but rather immediately run into the office and close the door to play games on their phones after selling the customer $200 worth of service. Policy requiring you help all customers in line even if you're already closed, leading to staying an hour or more past closing. Customers are not required to turn off their vehicles while waiting in line, leading to severe burns from hot oil or hot metal, especially on diesel trucks. Forget about taking time off for vacations or family, stores are intentionally kept understaffed so you have to work or risk getting fired. You are expected to stay late or come in on your days off to do training bookwork despite being consistently scheduled for 10+ hour shifts. 10+ hour shifts in blistering heat with no one offering water from the office or lobby fountain
