Company has a complete lack of respect for its managers - Manager Valvoline Instant Oil Change Employee Review

Pros

It's a job if you can't find anything else.

Cons

Salaried Managers are worked like dogs and expected to work hours of overtime every week while hourly employees are coddled. This company is more focused on ridiculous feel-good corporate policies and complying with trending social norms than actually making profit or looking out for the employees who bust their rear end every day to make it happen. They promote people who suck up and go along with their garbage initiatives rather than on individual merit or business acumen. It's a really unrewarding environment for management to put it mildly.

Pros

Okay starting pay. Acceptable starting point if you're looking to get into the automotive industry

Cons

Lack of coverage when your shift ends often leading to being forced to stay an hour over at least. None of the locations have any form of AC or other way to cool down except the office sometimes having water bottles, even in heatwaves. The pit is only ever staffed by one person working both or more bays even though there are supposed to be two+ working one each. Managers will not work on the cars themselves but rather immediately run into the office and close the door to play games on their phones after selling the customer $200 worth of service. Policy requiring you help all customers in line even if you're already closed, leading to staying an hour or more past closing. Customers are not required to turn off their vehicles while waiting in line, leading to severe burns from hot oil or hot metal, especially on diesel trucks. Forget about taking time off for vacations or family, stores are intentionally kept understaffed so you have to work or risk getting fired. You are expected to stay late or come in on your days off to do training bookwork despite being consistently scheduled for 10+ hour shifts. 10+ hour shifts in blistering heat with no one offering water from the office or lobby fountain
