Pros

We have never laid off a single employee. The job expectations provide a consistent work environment (i.e. you know what to expect). There is significant flexibility at the manager level to work the hours that are appropriate for you to best balance you professional and personal lives. Vanguard offers tuition reimbursement. Our 401(k) plan is outstanding. Company match is 100% on the first 4% contributed. The retirement plan contribution is 10% of base pay. There is a year-end bonus structure for exempt employees. Employees will earn a partnership bonus that is calculated as a percentage of base pay for long-term employees or as a set number of shares for newer employees.

Cons

Lower pay compared to peer group, low cost structure, always trying to reduce services we provide to customers, limited budgets, corporate culture dominates the environment.

Pros

Awesome coworkers for young professionals. Paid licensing for a few months.

Cons

Micromanagement is out of control. Incompetent team leaders who are obsessed with power and metrics. Back to back calls, limited support, and nearly impossible effective communication between departments. Zero time to cultivate culture because you are taking calls every second of the day except for 30min/1hr lunch and two 15 minute breaks. You’re locked into your role for over a year (apprenticeship for around 60 days, then a year after promotion to associate) and your team leaders will not approve internal applications unless you are “eligible”.
