Pros
Good schedule keeping, friendly coworkers, close to restaurants.... nothing else really...
Cons
Management is a joke and those who are in charge are egotistical and power mad. They will throw you under the bus if it meant they could get a promotion. After working there for so long, the vibe of mediocrity and failure had become a natural occurrence. It wasn't just uncommon for failure in leaders, instructions and work; it was TO BE EXPECTED. The routine for an assembler is very slave-driven. If you're one minute late; you're written up. If you're away from your desk (even though you have to move away for a job); you get scolded. If you mess up on part; you will never hear the end of it. As the title says, Vaupell has a very sweatshop-like style when conducting business. From personal experience, if they find out you have a natural knack working on something that isn't in your job description, then they will exploit that without compensation and without the promise of promotion. Benefits are bare minimum. Only 5 holidays and rate roughly of 1 day of PTO after working for two months. If you have to stay home due to sick kid or engine troubles and you do not have the sick or vacation time to pull it off. You are putting yourself in hot water with management. I left for a better job opportunity and so far it makes Vaupell's employee relationships look somewhat illegal. I mean, there's no good ventilation system for the toxic fumes emitting from the presses, Everyone is treated the same back handed way, and the only way to get to the top is to be cutthroat. I wouldn't recommend working here to anyone. And to those who are considering joining the Vaupell "family": DON'T. You are better than this place, and you should work where respect, kindness, and professionalism are exhibited.
