Pros
- Vecna Robotics has great employee benefits (basically good health insurance, 401K matching, and flex time).
Cons
- Most of the management is comprised of employees that have been at Vecna for many years, never working anywhere else. There were not properly trained as managers, and are very bad at it. - Too many titles and large egos. Everyone is a director, manager, VP, Chief this and that. There aren't enough engineers to do the work, but there are so many redundant managers. - It's the boss' way or the highway! At Vecna Robotics, if you don't agree with the people above you, you 3 options: be quiet, quit, or get fired. I've seen all three cases. - You won't get any mentorship here. Every time I brought up this topic with my supervisors, they glazed their eyes and ignored it. - Every project is poorly planned from start, so everything get's rushed and hacked together at the end, both in hardware and software. - Hardware team, very few doing most of the work. But they are quitting or getting fired.... - They don't want to see redflags. I've seen so many engineers leave this company and during the exit interview explain EXACTLY the reasons, but nothing changes. Every month I would see someone I cared about quit. - Huge difference between an R&D project and a product. Current management doesn't understand it. - Salary/Stocks inequality. The range is ridiculous. - Way too many distractions and side projects. Focus on getting 1 product complete!
