Pros
Casual attire (jeans, etc), work from home allowed, pretty flexible with choosing your hours (depending on your supervisor), forced fun (treats, bday celebrations, etc). Opportunities for growth (they always have open internal positions although it's a long process) and ad hop projects. They have a great benefits (401k, discounts and perks). People are nice and will become your lifelong friends. If you like marketing and advertising then this is a great start. The CEO and upper mgmt are motivating and inspiring. They do update us with everything that's going on via email, meetings, press releases, etc.
Cons
High school environment ( cliques, gossip, immature). Many times your leader is young, inexperienced, has never managed a team before, has no leadership skills, gossips about their direct reports. I've had multiple leaders during my 8+ yrs there, all have ranged from bad to mediocre. None are people that I would look up to/ admire/ have had outstanding or impressive careers. So don't expect your leader to have an impressive resume. expect to smile always, play by the rules, never question anything, participate during meetings, always seem enthusiastic in order to get get ahead. Participate in many extra curriculars ( called BRGs) and constantly let people know you're participating. This is more important than actually doing great work and providing excellent service. Outside of the HS culture, the systems/technology is from 1950's, I was around for 8+ years and they have done few improvements. No bonuses or incentives for the work that you do (sales gets the bonus and commission as well as account liaisons). Most of the time, the CC has the client contact, coordinate, plan and execute the program, while sales just sits back and collects the commission (on your work/effort). Sometimes if you are lucky, you get a nominated for an award, and if you win, you get a gift card.
