Pros

The people are what made this place worth coming to on a daily basis. By and large, they were great, friendly and willing to help out when needed. The past few years were very trying in terms of layoffs so those that remained are tight knit and generally easy going. While I never used it, the ability to work from home added a lot of options for many folks.

Cons

Company is going in the wrong direction, both from a managerial and a financial standpoint. When I was hired a decade ago, the company had three buildings in Windsor. Now when I was laid off a few months ago, they barely have enough people to staff one building. Upper management doesn't seem to have a clue as to what they're doing, frequently changing processes for the sake of change without realizing the impact it has on both the client and internal partners. Also with frequent "rightsizings" that take place, career opportunities have all but dried up. Middle managers are willing to help groom you for a particular role if that's your interest but, the amount of positions available have been decreasing, not increasing. It's my belief that Valassis won't have a presence in Windsor for much longer.

Pros

This is a great place to grow your career. I've moved multiple times in the company, with a pay increase every time and a more engaging role every time. Benefits are nice.

Cons

There seems to be a disconnect sometimes between the different management tiers, higher ups to plant managers to shift managers and vice versa. It also appears to be slimming down quite a bit on work.
