Pros

There are some AMAZING people who work there (associates and leaders) and help is NEVER hard to come by if you need it. The history of people at the company is truly inspiring and most people have a strong sense of pride in what they do. One work from home day every week Overtime pay over 40 hours is a very unique benefit. Good benefits / 401k match

Cons

Unfortunately, Valassis is the last remaining (legitimate) player in the print industry and are just trying to stay a float. There is a CLEAR sense of panic/uncertainty throughout the company and there does not seem to be a clear or effective plan to turn the ship around. This also leads to general frustration among the majority of employees and seems like everyone is keeping their resume up to date... Almost NO opportunity for advancement or legitimate pay increase (which is obviously due to the lack of growth within the company) While there are some amazing Managers at Valassis, most lack the transparency needed between them and the people on their team and seem to encourage associates to continue going above and beyond with no expectation of advancement or promotion. Constant "innovations" or "solutions" are being rolled out that have very little effect on the overall success of the company and seem to create more work for anyone that might not benefit from the change.

Pros

This is a great place to grow your career. I've moved multiple times in the company, with a pay increase every time and a more engaging role every time. Benefits are nice.

Cons

There seems to be a disconnect sometimes between the different management tiers, higher ups to plant managers to shift managers and vice versa. It also appears to be slimming down quite a bit on work.
