Cons
Verifone suffers from stale leadership; the same people at the top of the organization have been performing the same duties in the same way for years--and although they give a great deal of lip-service to the R&D of innovation, at the end of the day, nothing is implemented. E.g., the processes to simply hire someone are cumbersome and unnecessarily lengthy in that EVERYONE, right up to Doug and Bob, have demanded approval ownership of both the job order/posting/rec and the hire. This results in massive delays and the loss of amazing talent. Leadership knows this too and they don't care. I am told that a lot of this is typical of UK-owned orgs., regardless, it's creates a rather inert, stale work environment where communication is choppy and unreliable. The employees I worked with were both frustrated and unhappy with the antiquated processes and I can say via firsthand experience that employees at nearly all levels spend at least 10% of their day playing CYA and trying to stay below C-level radar. This is one of the most hostile environments I have ever worked in.
