Pros

Some of the best people I've ever worked with. Boston office is nice.

Cons

Not-infrequent layoffs, rotating cast of C-suites all with different priorities, benefits continuously reduced. Velocity extremely impaired by self-imposed bureaucracy combined with chronic understaffing of important roles.

Pros

Good compensation and nice coworkers

Cons

It’s like leadership is trying to be as stereotypically corporate-nasty and sketchy as possible. (For fun, maybe? Hope you’re having fun in your dark gray blazers.) The company feels very unstable from the inside and morale has completely tanked. There’s also a highly uncomfortable obsession and dependence on office presence. They begrudgingly give two remote days, for now, but the work you do isn’t as important as “looking busy” and performance optics in the office. I just can’t recommend Verily as a place of work, unless you’re desperate or have an unexpectedly brilliant long-term plan to make it work for your career?
