Pros

Inspired and highly educated and experienced colleagues

Cons

Leadership is caught up in trying to run the company like it is a large established organization. They have great products but they can't seem to get out of their own way. Leaders do not work well together. There is a lack of respect and trust amongst the team and it trickles down to all levels. They quietly & consistently layoff employees and the communication is very much lacking. They keep asking all to do more with less. Leaving a significant gap in resources and collaboration. Morale is at an all time low.

Pros

Good compensation and nice coworkers

Cons

It’s like leadership is trying to be as stereotypically corporate-nasty and sketchy as possible. (For fun, maybe? Hope you’re having fun in your dark gray blazers.) The company feels very unstable from the inside and morale has completely tanked. There’s also a highly uncomfortable obsession and dependence on office presence. They begrudgingly give two remote days, for now, but the work you do isn’t as important as “looking busy” and performance optics in the office. I just can’t recommend Verily as a place of work, unless you’re desperate or have an unexpectedly brilliant long-term plan to make it work for your career?
