Pros

Great benefits (currently similar to Google, but will go away); smart colleagues

Cons

Lack of clear vision from leadership and CEO. Unclear product or revenue strategy. No safe channels for upward feedback. Leadership cutting employee benefits little by little to reduce spending.

Pros

Good compensation and nice coworkers

Cons

It’s like leadership is trying to be as stereotypically corporate-nasty and sketchy as possible. (For fun, maybe? Hope you’re having fun in your dark gray blazers.) The company feels very unstable from the inside and morale has completely tanked. There’s also a highly uncomfortable obsession and dependence on office presence. They begrudgingly give two remote days, for now, but the work you do isn’t as important as “looking busy” and performance optics in the office. I just can’t recommend Verily as a place of work, unless you’re desperate or have an unexpectedly brilliant long-term plan to make it work for your career?
