Pros

Verisk has a lot of good things going for it, both in terms of internal resources and its products. The focus on DEI is very strong and the employee networks seem well-run. Pay is pretty competitive.

Cons

This is the most exclusionary, cliquish workplace I have ever encountered. Rules are enforced unevenly, "outsiders" are treated unfairly, and sometimes work-related information is withheld from people who aren't in the "in group." The fact that many in leadership not only buy into but reinforce this favoritism is extremely frustrating. Also, in my time at Verisk I've seen a number of small layoffs and a bunch of people who are managed out of the company. This may not be a good place to look for long-term stability and growth.

In fact, because of employee feedback and participation in the most recent engagement survey, we invested in numerous programs to promote from within the organization.

Pros

I have been a product manager at several companies, and it is genuinely one of the best environments I have worked in. Verisk provides a unique opportunity to work closely with customers, engineering, design, and leadership to solve meaningful problems and deliver products that create business value. Product managers are trusted to help shape strategy and influence key decisions. Teams collaborate effectively, and there is a shared commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for customers. Leadership is approachable and receptive to new ideas, creating an environment where innovation is encouraged.

Cons

Navigating insurance regulatory requirements and customer compliance can occasionally slow feature development and release timelines.
